Second class are preparing for their First Holy Communion in May. They are following the Do This in Memory of Me programme. Pupils get involved in Sunday mass in Clonown with the Readings, Responsorial Psalm, Prayers of the Faithful and the Offertory Procession. This is a very special year for the children.
We went to Athlone Castle before the Mid-term break. We were shown around that castle museum and we also completed a history & maths trail. It was brilliant fun and we learned so much. We are so lucky to have this great facility in our town.
We are delighted that our school was chosen as a pilot-school for the new O.K. Kids Anti-Bullying Programme. Congratulations to sixth class pupils who made their Confirmation in St.Peter’s Church. The children were very lucky to be confirmed by our Chairperson, Canon Liam Devine in his new role as Vicar General. He made the occasion so special for the children.

Pupils have just finished a Meditation course with guests Louise and Rose. The children really enjoyed it and learned lots of new skills. The aim of the course was to boost self-esteem, self-confidence and to help children deal with any worries that they may have.
