Pupils in the Senior Room attended this Canal Awareness Event remotely as part of our Green School Project. The speakers were Bail Mannion (Local Authority Water Programme), Gearoid O’Brien (Local Author & Historian), Billy Flynn (Flynn Furney Environmental) and Brian Caffrey (Birdwatch Ireland). Thanks to Shay Hamilton, Chairman of Athlone Canal Heritage Committee, for inviting us to attend.
