We spent the last day of school planting daffodil bulbs and crocus bulbs at the front of our school yard. We look forward to seeing them grow and blossom in the Springtime.

Pupils in the Junior Room performed for the residents in Athlone Day Centre. They sang a collection of Christmas carols. The children had so much fun.

Pupils in the Junior Room had a brilliant time today at the show, Elfie Doolittle Saves Christmas. They were delighted with their seating in the front rows! This time next week we’ll be performing our own Christmas Show in Clonown Community Centre. Wed 20th Dec, 7pm. Free admission, all welcome.
We had a great time learning about bees with Joe. He even brought in his beehive to show us and we tasted honey from his bees. It was thoroughly enjoyable. Joe promised that he would be back again soon and we look forward to this.
It’s getting to look a lot like Christmas here in Clonown NS! The Christmas trees are up in both classrooms. We have given out the Christmas annuals to every child. We had great fun entering the Roscommon County Council Art Competition this week. Our pupils designed and created Christmas decorations out of recycled materials. The results were amazing, well done to you all! We’ll be displaying these fabulous pieces at our Christmas Nativity Show next week.
Well done to all our pupils who participated in yesterday’s Mass. You did a terrific job and we were very proud of you all. A special mention to our young readers – it was their first time reading from the altar so congratulations to you all. You were brilliant.
