We go to the library each month and promoting reading is a huge part of our school culture. One of our 1st Class pupils won a prize as part of the Summer Reading Scheme.

Pupils in the Senior Room took part in the Co. Roscommon Cross Country Running in St. Joseph’s College, Summerhill recently. The children had a great day and they ran very well. We had brilliant fun on Sports Day. We played playground games, had lots of races, played with the parachute and did an obstacle course. The ice-cream van came as a big treat! We all won medals.
Padraig Duncan came to our school to help us plant 30 native Irish trees that we received. Everyone got stuck in planting and we really enjoyed it.
Danielle Allison came in June to tell us some stories. It’s the second time this year that Danielle has come to us. We had brilliant fun.
Tom Cuffe came to our school and talked to us about birds and other wildlife. The pupils in the Senior Room went for a Nature walk with Tom around Clonown.
Music is a huge part of our school day. We often invite performers into our classroom. Here is Stephen Ducke playing Irish Traditional music for us.
We have been very busy planting seeds recently. We are planting seeds to help save bees! We bought some seed and we collected others from our school yard. We will plant them outside when they grow.

We have received our 8th green flag for our Biodiversity Project. This is a picture of the Insect Hotel that we made in the school yard. All the pupils had a ball making this!
