Our 6th Class pupils represented our school at this year’s Canal Awareness Event in the Shamrock Lodge Hotel.
This was presented by Athlone Canal Heritage Committee, Our Lady’s Bower and the Marist College. They all did a fantastic job.
Guest speakers included George Smith (Blackthorn Ecology), Gearoid O’Brien (local historian & writer), Basil Mannion (Local Authority Water Programme) and Jude Kilmartin (Sub-Aqua).
There was a great turn-out and everyone enjoyed this informative and interactive day.
