Clann na nGael Presentation

We were honoured and delighted that members of Clann na nGael Club came to our school today to congratulate us on our school centenary. Among them was past-pupil David Flynn and he presented us with a fabulous photo of him lifting the Tom Markham cup in the 2006 All-Ireland Minor Final. It will take pride of place in our school. Also there today was Liam Dunne who spoke to the children about Clann na nGael, the logo and about the great Clann players that came (and come) from Clonown. The children loved hearing about their relations, neighbours and friends who played so well for Clann na nGael over the years and up to the present day. We are extremely proud of them all. Eugene Pettit and Eoin also came to our school today with Liam and finally, Alan Fitzpatrick our Gaelic coach. We thank them all sincerely for the lovely presentation ceremony today, it meant a great deal to us. Thanks a million to Alan for all his hard work training our pupils all year. They love his sessions and we are delighted to continue the strong link between Clann na nGael and our school. Thanks to all the club for their letter of congratulations to our school which again we were honoured to receive. Finally thanks to Anthony Dalton for the lovely photos.
