We had a great time in school, celebrating Seachtain na Gaeilge.
Éire was our focus for the week. We learned about Irish trees (also celebrating Tree Week), Irish counties, mountains and rivers.
Children revised the Story of St. Patrick in English & Irish. We revised Amhrán na bhFiann & Ireland’s Call also.
We learned Hail Glorious St. Patrick on the tin-whistle.
We completed a St. Patrick’s Day Scratch programming lesson (supplied to us by Ericsson).
Finally, we explored the history of the Irish Language.
Inniu, bhí Lá Glas againn. Bhí ceolchoirm sa seomra ranga freisin.
Children told Irish jokes, played Irish music, danced, shared Irish facts and some even performed hand-passes with a gaelic ball!
There was something for everyone 🙂
