We were busy planting today throughout the whole school.
We planted carrots, peas, lettuce, mint, daffodils and crocuses. 5th and 6th Class pupils took the lead and helped pupils in the Junior Room with their pots. They had lots of fun with them. Most of our pots will stay inside on our windowsills until the seeds germinate and our little plants are strong enough to go outside. We also want to ensure that the weather is not too cold for them.
The window boxes that the children in the Senior Room planted a few months ago are doing very well. The crocuses are starting to bloom already.
We are applying for our 13th Green Flag. The theme we have been working hard on is Food and Biodiversity Globally. Planting herbs, fruit, vegetables and flowers is a very important part of this.
