We had a great day today celebrating World Book Day. We held our annual book swap in both classrooms. The children brought in books that they had read and swapped them with their peers. Receiving a book recommendation from our friends is often the best way to encourage us to read more! 🙂
Pupils in the Senior Room completed an online workshop with Irish author Anthony Garvey. He was very funny and entertaining.
We are all going home today with World Book Day vouchers. We encouraged our pupils to go to Athlone Book Shop and receive their free book or to purchase a new book and get €1.50 off the full price.
Reading is a huge and an enjoyable part of our school day at Clonown NS as we take part in the Accelerated Reader Programme.
