Science Week – Junior Room

A volunteer from Kildare Animal Foundation Wildlife Unit found a little hedgehog stranded under a cattlegrid near Glasson in September. He was underweight, hungry, cold and wet. During Science week, Ruairi released the now healthy hedgehog on the grounds of Clonown N.S. He said he couldn’t think of a better place for the hedgehog to live.

The children in the Junior Room designed and made a home for the hedgehog on the school grounds during Science Week. Our new friend is living there happily since. Ruairi showed the hedgehog to the children again on Friday and we were all delighted to see how well he is doing in his new home.
