We received the loan of percussion instruments, including drums, from Athlone Education Centre for the month of May. We’re having great fun and learning a lot about rhythm. We are reading music together and we are also composing our own rhythmic patterns.
Each year our entire school enjoys taking part in the Feile Ceoil in the Dean Crowe Theatre. It is a fantastic platform for us to perform a selection of the many Irish songs and tunes which we learn in school. It is a great event and we enjoyed watching other schools performing too.
Our school was invited into Athlone Library to perform with Kilbeggan Men’s Shed as part of Seachtain na Gaeilge. We were delighted and honoured to play, sing and dance there. It was a lovely occasion.

We are taking part in the Junior Entrepreneur Programme 2019. Alan Mc Caul, from the Shamrock Lodge Hotel, visited our school to talk to the children about owning a business and to advise them about their own business idea. He gave them great tips and ideas. The children really enjoyed his visit.
