We had a great week during Engineering Week recently.
Pupils in the Junior Room designed and made their own boats out of plasticine. They tested them in a basin of water to make sure they could float. They even added smarties as passengers! The children discovered that if they made the walls and base thinner, the boat would float better. They had lots of fun with this activity.
Pupils in the Senior Room completed Computational Thinking exercises in a special workbook which was created by PACT at Maynooth University. The children really enjoyed this. They also make an electric car with their partner using kits which we received from Stem Wizz.
